고양시는 지난 9월부터 추진한 이동환 시장의 44개 ‘동(洞) 주민과의 소통간담회’가 지난 9일 고봉동을 마지막으로 마무리됐다고 밝혔다.
‘동(洞) 주민과의 소통간담회’는 주민의 소리를 시정에 적극 반영하기 위해, 주민불편사항 및 지역 주요 현안 등을 현장에서 직접 듣고 정책에 반영하기 위한 소통창구 역할을 해왔다.

이동환 시장은 격의 없는 진솔한 간담회 자리를 조성하기 위해 노력해왔다.
사전 건의사항 외에도 현장에서 추가건의사항에 대한 의견을 적극적으로 받아 즉석에서 행정절차 등을 설명하고, 불가능한 건의사항에 대해서는 보다 합리적인 대안을 모색하기 위해 노력하는 등 주민들과의 공감대 형성을 위해 애썼다.
이번 소통간담회에서는 건의사항 논의 외에도 ‘새로운 고양, 시민의 행복시대’를 만들기 위해 노력하는 고양시정의 운영방향을, 직접 이동환 고양시장을 통해 주민들의 궁금증과 오해를 푸는 기회이기도 했다.
건의사항에 대해서는 2023년 본예산 및 추경예산에 최대한 반영해나갈 방침이다.

이번 소통간담회를 통해 고양시는 총204건의 건의사항을 수렴했고, 이중 ▲도로개설 및 보도정비 관련 38건 ▲마을환경개선 관련 37건 ▲공공시설확충 관련 35건 ▲교통(주차장 확충, 노선 신설 등) 관련 30건 등 대다수의 건의사항이 도시환경개선에 관한 내용으로 파악됐다.
이 시장은 “44개 동을 방문하는데 당초 예상보다 많은 시간이 걸렸지만 앞으로도 주민의 목소리를 경청하기 위해 이런 자리를 계속해서 만들어 나가겠다. 항상 고양시 발전과 행정에 많은 관심을 보여주시는 주민들에게 진심으로 감사드린다”며 소통간담회를 마무리한 소회를 밝혔다.[고양=박정호 기자]
