[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 다사다난했던 올 한해를 되돌아보고 계묘년 새해 힘찬 도약을 다짐하는 ‘2022 경남 사격인의 밤’ 행사가 16일 창원 미래웨딩 4층 그랜드홀에서 개최됐다.
경남사격연연맹이 주관한 ‘사격인의 밤’ 행사에는 경남사격연맹 강장호 회장을 비롯해 창원특례시 구진호 문화관광체육국장, 경남사격연맹 임원과, 시·군 사격연맹회장, 그리고 사격 지도자 및 선수 등 160여 명이 참석한 가운데, 2022년 사업성과를 공유하고 경남사격 발전에 기여한 선수, 지도자 및 임원에 대한 표창도 수여했다.
올해 경남 사격팀은 제103회 전국체전에서 사격 종목 종합 4위로 10년 연속 상위권 성적을 유지했고, 경남대학교 이준호 선수가 창원시장배, 한화회장배, 경호처장기 전국사격대회에 출전해, 50m 복사 종목에서 개인1위를 달성하였으며, 그 외 많은 입상자를 배출하면서 경남사격의 명예를 드높였다.

또, ISSF 월드컵 국제사격대회를 창원시에서 올해 열 번째 개최하였으며, 한화회장배 전국사격대회, 대통령경호처장기 전국사격대회 등 메이저급 국내 대회를 포함한 6개 전국대회도 성료했다.
다가오는 새해에는 아시아 최대 규모인 아시아사격선수권대회가 52년 만에 창원에서 개최됨으로써 지역 경제 부흥에 기여함은 물론, 다시 한번 창원이 국제적인 사격의 메카도시로 자리매김할 것으로 기대된다.
구진호 창원특레시 문화관광체육국장은 “경남은 아시아 사격의 중심이 되고 창원이 세계 최고의 사격 도시로 굳건히 자리매김할 수 있도록 사격인의 지혜와 열정을 모아줄 것“을 당부했다. 이어 “역대 최고의 아시아사격선수권대회도 성황리에 치를 수 있도록 준비에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

강장호 경남사격연맹회장은 “제103회 전국체육대회에 경남도 사격선수들이 사격종합 4위의 성적을 달성하면서 경상남도 체육이 전국체전 종합 순위 4위를 위해 큰 공헌을 했다"며 말하고 "이런 결과물을 바탕으로 경남사격은 어려운 시기를 지나면서 내실을 다졌으며 장기적으로 볼 때는 더 큰 걸음을 했다"고 말했다.
