[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 22일 거창문화원 상살미홀에서 구인모 군수와 이홍희 군의회 의장을 비롯한 지역 내 기관·단체장, 관계 공무원, 자원봉사자 등 200여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2022년 거창군 자원봉사자대회’를 개최했다.
이날 행사는 17번째를 맞는 자원봉사자의 날(12월 5일)을 기념하며, 올 한해 다양한 분야에서 적극적으로 활동해 온 자원봉사자들의 사기 진작과 자긍심을 높이고 자원봉사에 대한 군민적 관심과 참여를 유도하기 위한 행사로, 그동안 코로나19로 개최하지 못하다가 3년 만에 대면행사로 개최됐다.
구인모 거창군수는 대회사를 통해 “더 큰 거창도약 군민 행복시대를 위해 자원봉사 활동에 기여한 공으로 수상의 영예를 안은 봉사자들께 진심으로 축하의 박수를 보내며, 앞으로도 자원봉사자들이 활동에 불편함이 없도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
이홍희 군의장은 “어려운 여건 속에서도 혼신의 힘을 다해 봉사해 주고 계신 자원봉사자 여러분들이야 말로 거창군의 가장 빛나는 영웅이다”며 “앞으로도 거창군의 밝은 미래를 위해 함께 노력하자”고 말했다.
참석자들은 대회 마지막 순서로 군에서 적극 추진하고 있는 ‘6만 인구 사수 캠페인’의 일환으로 ‘카드섹션 캠페인’을 통해 자원봉사자들이 앞장서서 6만 인구 사수에 적극 동참하겠다는 결의를 다졌으며, 2023년에도 자원봉사 활동에 대한 더 큰 참여를 이끌어 가자고 서로를 격려하고 응원하며 행사를 마무리했다.
