브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 정부는 오는 28일 0시를 기해 신년 특별사면을 실시한다.
이번 특별사면 대상자에는 이명박 전 대통령과 함께 김기춘 전 대통령 비서실장, 우병우 전 민정수석, 김경수 전 경남지사 등이 포함됐다.
한동훈 법무부 장관은 27일 오전 국무회의 직후 정부서울청사에서 특별사면 단행 발표를 했다.
특별사면 대상자는 총 1373명이며 정치인으로 분류되는 사면 대상자는 9명, 공직자로 분류되는 대상자는 66명이다.
정부는 정치인에 대한 특별 사면에 대해 "범국민적 통합을 위한 계기"라고 설명했다.
이에 따라 이명박 전 대통령은 잔형 집행면제 및 복권 대상자이며 김성태 전 의원과 전병헌 전 의원은 형선고 실효 및 복권 대상자가 됐다. 이어 신계륜 전 의원, 이병석 전 의원, 이완영 전 의원, 최구식 전 의원, 강운태 전 광주광역지사, 홍이식 전 화순군수는 복권된다.
또한 주요 공직자에 대한 사면에 대해선 "잘못된 관행으로 직무상 불법행위에 이른 공직자들을 포함시켜 경직된 공직문화을 청산하겠다는 의미"라고 전했다.
잔형 집행면제 및 복권 대상이 된 공직자는 최경환 전 경제부총리, 이병호 전 국가정보원장, 이헌수 전 국정원 기조실장, 민병환 전 국정원 2차장, 배득식 전 기무사령관 등이다.
또한 원세훈 전 국정원장은 잔형이 감형됐고, 이채필 전 고용노동부장관과 박승춘 전 국가보훈처장, 서천호 전 국정원 2차장, 최윤수 전 국정원 2차장은 형선고 실효 및 복권 대상자가 됐다.
김태효 전 청와대 기획관은 형선고가 실효됐으며 김기춘 전 실장과 남재준·이병기 전 국정원장 등 23명은 복권된다.
다만 김경수 전 지사의 경우에는 복권 없이 남은 형기에 대한 집행만 면제됐다. '드루킹 댓글조작 공모' 혐의로 징역 2년을 선고받아 내년 5월 형 만료로 출소를 앞둔 김 전 지사는 복권이 이뤄지지 않으면서 피선거권은 2028년 5월까지 제한된다.
