파주시에서는 테마모금 ‘나눔으로 싹이트는, 드림씨앗’으로 모금활동을 통해 6기 모금액이 기준 목표액의 120%를 달성했다고 밝혔다.
‘나눔으로 싹이트는, 드림씨앗’은 관내 장애·질병·사고 등으로 위기 상황에 처한 복지사각지대 대상자를 발굴하고, 대상 가구의 위기 상황을 돕는 사업이다.

이번 6기 대상으로 선정된 성호(가명, 16세, 남)는 7살 무렵 갑작스러운 경련발작으로 후천적 뇌병변장애가 생겨 지속적인 재활치료가 필요한 상태다.
성호의 동생마저 뇌전증과 지적장애가 생기면서 수급비만으로는 치료비를 감당할 수 없어 경제적 부담이 큰 실정이다.
이에 지난해 10월부터 12월까지 재활치료비 1,000만원을 목표로 모금을 진행했으며, 총 1,200만원이 모였다.
이 모금활동은 그동안 2020년 6월 1기를 시작으로, 6기까지 총 7,490여만원의 모금액이 모여 수술비와 치료비, 생계비 등으로 전액 지원되고 있다.
이귀순 복지정책과장은 “건강했던 두 아이의 갑작스러운 장애로 부모의 상심이 얼마나 컸을지는 헤아리기조차 어렵다”며, “모금에 동참해주신 많은 분들의 손길에 감사드리며, 성호 가정에 희망이 더해져 미소 짓는 날이 많아지길 바란다”고 전했다. [파주=박정호 기자]
