KT&G복지재단이 취약계층 난방비 지원에 나섰다.
KT&G복지재단은 올겨울 난방비로 어려움을 겪는 에너지 취약계층을 위해 총 8억 5천만원을 지원한다고 7일 밝혔다.
KT&G복지재단은 지난해 11월부터 서울과 수도권 지역의 취약계층 3,300여 세대에 6억 5천만원 규모의 난방비를 지원해 오고 있다.
이에 더해, 최근 가스 등 공공요금 인상으로 연료비 부담이 가중된 저소득층의 고충을 덜어주기 위해 이번에 2억원을 추가 지급하기로 결정해 올겨울 총 8억 5천만원의 난방비를 지원한다.
이번에 증액된 2억원은 기존 대상자들 중 긴급 지원이 필요한 세대에게 10만원의 난방비를 추가 지급하는 데 활용된다. 앞서 선정된 수혜자들은 예정대로 오는 3월까지 세대 당 20만원 한도 내에서 지원 금액을 지속 사용하게 된다.
KT&G복지재단은 겨울 한파 속에 경제적 어려움으로 난방이 어려운 저소득 가정에 난방 연료와 도시가스비를 매년 지급해오고 있다.
이는 지난 2005년부터 올해까지 19년째 이어오고 있는 취약계층 지원사업으로, 이번까지 포함해 누적 지원 금액은 약 110억원에 달한다.
