고(故) 이건희 삼성전자 회장의 유족들은 지난 2021년 4월에 “이건희 회장 소유의 옛 미술품과 국내외 유명작가들의 미술품 총 1만1,000여건, 2만3,000여점을 국립기관 등에 기증한다”고 발표했다. 이후, 이건희 컬렉션을 감상하려는 관람 인구가 늘었다. 예술품의 다량(多量) 소장을 통한, 미술관-박물관 등의 개관(開館)에 대한 관심도도 높아졌다.

필자는 지난 16년 간 누드화를 모아왔다. 최근까지 1,200점 소장, 이 분야 미술품의 다량 소장(서울누드화미술관 추진)가이다. 이런 과정에서, 미술-예술품을 대규모로 모아온 몇 소장가(所藏家) 분들을 직접 만나보게 됐다.
서울 종로구 삼일대로 457(경운동88) 수운회관 1층에 있는 '다보성 고미술(갤러리)'의 김종춘 회장(75. 전북 남원 출신)을 만났다. 이 분은 고미술협회 회장을 지낸 분이다. 지난 51년 간 한중일 고(古)예술-미술품들을 모아왔다. "그간 수집한 한중일 고미술품 소장품이 5만여 점에 달한다"고 말했다. 이런 규모의, 엄청난 예술품을 소장한 '큰손 소장가(所藏家)'이다. 이 회장은 이 고미술품을 활용, 박물관 설립의 꿈을 꾸고 있다. 반면에, 이 소장품으로 박물관을 설립하려는 미래 소장가를 찾고 있다.

경남 하동군 청학동의 지리산 자락에 있는 삼성궁의 창립자인 한풀 선사님(세속 명=강민주)는 고미술 12만 점을 소장해온 우리나라 고미술계의 큰손이다. 필자가 직접 만난 한풀 선사는 “12만점의 고 미술품을 소장하고 있다”고 말하고 “삼성궁 내에 세계적인 박물관-미술관을 만들 착실하게 해나가고 있다”고 강조했다.
서울 종로구 삼일대로 440(낙원동)의 '서화보고' 갤러리의 조재영 대표는 지난 40년간 예술품을 모아왔다. 그가 소장한 예술품은 1만여 점. 유명 화가들의 그림, 고미술품들을 소장하고 있다.
