진주시, 월아산 국가정원 조성 위한 5가지 테마 구상

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 시청 2층 시민홀에서 ‘월아산 국가(지방)정원 마스터플랜 수립 및 타당성 조사 용역 중간보고회’를 개최했다고 23일 밝혔다.

이번 용역은 월아산의 자연환경과 숲속의 진주 산림복지시설의 기능을 최대한 살리고, 도시와 조화롭게 연결할 수 있는 마스터플랜을 수립해 사업비용과 효과를 분석하는 것이 목적이다.

이날 보고회에서는 조규일 진주시장과 관계 부서장, 정원문화 조성 및 진흥위원회 위원, 전문가 등이 참석해 국가정원 조성을 위한 단계별 중장기 추진전략, 세부추진계획 등에 대해 논의했다.

용역사인 서울대학교 산학협력단은 월아산의 자연자원을 활용한 석산의 숲정원, 디지털 상상의 숲정원, 고요의 숲정원, 차오르는 숲정원, 숲정원 옴파로스 등 5가지 기본 구상, 중장기 전략과 추진계획에 대해 보고했다.

조규일 시장은 “진주시의 자랑스러운 문화유산과 생태환경을 보존하고 발전시키는 미래지향적인 사업이다”며 “도시로 일상으로 파고드는 정원문화도시로 성장할 수 있도록 최선을 다해 달라”고 당부했다.
