[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 남강 유람선 김시민호를 오는 31일부터 운행을 재개한다고 27일 밝혔다.
김시민호는 남강을 활용한 관광자원 개발과 지역관광 활성화를 위해 지난해 4월 첫 운항을 시작해 11월까지 운행되면서 약 2만4000명의 시민과 관광객들이 탑승했을 정도로 큰 인기를 모았다.
김시민호는 아름다운 남강을 따라 천혜의 절경 진주성, 촉석루, 의암 등의 풍광과 야간운행 시에는 진주성의 경관조명과 강변 음악분수대의 화려한 조명, 다양한 분수 연출을 감상할 수 있다.
이에 진주시는 시민과 관광객의 높은 호응과 수요에 부응하기 위해 올해 친환경 전기 유람선 1대를 추가로 건조하는 사업을 추진 중에 있다.
김시민호의 운항 시간은 화.수.목요일 오후 1시~9시, 금.토.일요일 오전 10시~오후 9시, 월요일은 휴무며, 야간운행은 오후 7·8·9시 3차례 진행한다.
탑승장소는 현재 건조한 날씨로 남강의 수위가 낮아져 있기 때문에 물빛나루쉼터 밑 망진나루터 1곳이지만, 남강 수위가 개선되면 촉석문 앞 촉석나루터에서도 탑승이 가능하다.
김시민호는 망진나루를 출발해 진주성 앞 남강 일대를 순회하며 출발지로 돌아오는 코스로 약 30분 정도 운항하며, 동시에 문화관광해설사로부터 진주성의 역사문화에 대한 설명을 들을 수 있다.
