[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 오태완 의령군수가 중앙부처에 잇단 '노크'로 지역 현안 해결을 위한 발품 행정을 펼쳤다.
오 군수는 5일 기획재정부, 교육부를 방문해 주요 현안을 설명하고 사업의 중요성과 필요성을 설명했다.
오 군수는 기획재정부 김완섭 예산실장과의 면담 자리에서 국립국어사전박물관 의령 건립 추진의 당위성을 피력하고 정부 차원의 긴밀한 협력을 요청했다.
의령군은 우리 말과 글을 체계적으로 연구하고 시대별·역사별 언어문화를 정리·보존하기 위해 국립국어사전박물관 건립을 계획하고 있다.
건립위 발기인 대회 및 추진위를 구성해 전방위적 활동을 펼치고 있으며 그 결과 새 정부 국정과제 반영을 위한 경상남도 전략과제에 선정돼 경남도와 공동의 노력을 기울이고 있다.
또한 건립 추진을 위한 학술발표회를 세 차례에 걸쳐 개최했다.
특히 지난해 3월 국회에서 개최된 학술발표회에서는 정치인과 학계 전문가가 대거 참석해 열띤 분위기를 연출했다.
당시 학술발표회에는 현재 집권 여당 대표도 찾아 "다른 어디보다 의령에 꼭 세워져야 한다"라는 말로 의령군 건립을 지지했다. 윤석열 대통령 역시 후보 시절 공약으로 이를 내세워 어느 때보다 의령군민의 기대감도 높아지고 있다.
이날 오 군수는 국립국어사전박물관 건립 기본구상 및 타당성 조사 용역 시행을 위한 24년 예산 5억 원 편성을 요청했다.

오태완 군수는 "이번에 건의한 사업들은 의령군이 새로운 미래 50년을 준비하는 데 꼭 필요한 사업"이라며 "지역구 조해진 의원과도 긴밀히 협조해 지역 현안 사업을 위한 국비 확보에 총력을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
