【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=주낙영 경주시장이 10일 경주시 대외협력실에서 국·소·본부장 회의를 주재하고 첨단복합도서관·미술관 건립사업, 한수원 축구단 훈련센터, 옛 경주역사 부지 매입 사업 등 중점사업을 점검했다.

경주시에 따르면 첨단복합도서관 건립 사업은 2015년 기획재정부가 한수원 자사고 설립을 불허하면서 추진된 대안사업이다.
시는 한수원 자사고 사업으로 확보한 예산 780여 억원에 시·도비, 한수원 부담비용을 추가로 확보해 첨단복합도서관 조성 부지에 시립미술관을 함께 건립한다는 계획이다.
시의 기본계획에 따르면 시립미술관은 연면적 2535㎡(766.8평)에 전시실, 수장고, 체험공간 등이 들어선다.
시립미술관 건립 예정지는 첨단복합도서관 건립부지와 동일한 황성공원 내 문화공원이다.
주낙영 시장은 “첨단복합도서관·미술관 건립사업은 경주시가 역점을 두고 추진하는 사업인 만큼, 사업 추진에 보다 속도를 낼 것”을 주문했다.
이어 주 시장은 한수원 축구단 훈련센터와 관련해서도 언급했다.
주낙영 시장은 “한수원 축구센터는 한수원이 경주시민과 약속한 경주종합발전 프로젝트의 일환”이라며 “경주가 화랑유소년 스포츠특구로 지정된 데 이어 건천읍 신경주역세권 부지 일원에 한수원 축구단 훈련센터가 들어서면 경주가 축구도시 경주로 더욱 발돋움할 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.
또 주 시장은 폐역이 된 옛 경주역 부지의 활용 사업에 대해서도 속도를 내 줄 것을 주문했다.
주낙영 시장은 “보다 속도감 있는 사업 추진을 위해서는 부지 매입이 필수이다”며 “소유권을 가진 코레일과 국가철도공단 등과의 업무 협의를 조속히 마무리 지어 줄 것”을 강조했다.
앞서 경주시는 옛 경주역 부지 14만 8770㎡(약 4만5000평)를 약식 감정한 결과, 토지·지장물 보상비용으로 1000억원 가량의 예산이 필요한 것으로 잠정 평가했다.
이에 주낙영 시장은 “소유권을 가진 코레일과 국가철도공단 등과 연간 200억원씩 5년 동안 분할 납부방식으로 토지를 매입하는 것 적극 검토할 것”을 지시했다.
