브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 현대백화점면세점이 그룹 사회공헌 통합 브랜드 ‘위드림’(We.Dream) 경영의 일환으로, 저소득층 미혼모들의 사회적·경제적 자립을 돕기 위한 지원사업에 힘을 쏟는다.
현대백화점면세점은 18일 서울 사회복지공동모금회에 저소득층 미혼모 지원 사업 ‘위드림 위드맘’(We.Dream with Mom)을 위한 지원금 3000만원을 전달했다고 밝혔다.
현대백화점면세점은 2019년부터 서울 사회복지공동모금회와 함께 수도권에 거주하는 저소득층 미혼모들을 대상으로 출산 전후 의료 및 산후조리비, 생계·양육비 등 경제적 지원과 자격증 취득을 위한 교육 등을 지원하는 미혼모 자립 지원 사업인 위드림 위드맘 사업을 진행하고 있다. 올해 지원금 3000만원까지 포함하면 5년간 총 3억8000만원을 지원하게 된다.
이번에 전달된 지원금은 서울 사회복지공동모금회를 통해 저소득층 미혼모 100명에게 사용될 예정이다. 특히, 위드림 위드맘을 통해 자격증을 취득한 미혼모에게는 사회 진출에 도움이 될 수 있도록 서울 사회복지 공동모금회와 연계해 인턴 실습, 취업 지원 등의 기회도 제공한다.
현대백화점면세점 관계자는 “어려운 상황 속에서 홀로 아기를 키우는 미혼모 가정에 조금이나마 도움이 됐으면 하는 마음에서 매년 기부를 진행하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 사회적 약자에 대한 인식 개선과 사회 진출을 돕기 위한 실질적 지원 사업을 지속적으로 전개해 나갈 것이다”고 말했다.
