【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 CAMPUS Asia-AIMS 사업단은 말레이시아 관광청의 후원으로 Universiti Malaysia Terengganu(UMT), Universiti of Malaysia Sabah(UMS), 그리고 Victoria University(VU)와 공동으로 9월 25일부터 28일까지 “Global Tourism Conference (GTC) 2023: Smart Tourism and Sustainability”를 개최한다고 15일 밝혔다.

동국대 WISE캠퍼스에 따르면 CAMPUS Asia-AIMS 사업은 교육부가 한-아세안 대학 간 학점 상호인정, 공동 커리큘럼 개발 및 운영 등을 통해 아세안 지역 전문가 양성 및 대학 간 교류를 위해 추진하는 사업이다.
동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 호텔관광경영전공에 특화된 프로그램으로 스마트관광도시로 선정된 경주를 배경으로 아세안 지역 내 스마트관광 우수 인재를 양성하고 글로벌 전문가를 배출하고 있다.
이번 “Global Tourism Conference 2023: Smart Tourism and Sustainability”는 아세안 지역 내 스마트관광 산업의 저변 확대와 신진 연구자의 발굴을 위해 마련되었으며 참가자들을 위한 특별 심포지엄 등 다양한 프로그램이 준비되어 있다.
글로벌 저명 인사들이 특강을 통해 최근 관광 분야의 핫 이슈들인 스마트관광, 인공지능, 가상 및 증강현실 등에 대한 사례들을 소개 할 예정이며 대학생 및 대학원생들이 스마트관광에 대해 창의적이고 혁신적인 아이디어와 연구 능력을 발휘할 수 있는 기회의 장을 제공할 예정이다.
동국대 WISE캠퍼스 ‘CAMPUS Asia-AIMS’ 사업단장 권주경 교수는 “GTC 2023을 통해 아세안 지역의 스마트 관광에 대한 연구가 확산 되어 새로운 기회를 발굴하는 자리가 되고 더 나아가 동국대 WISE캠퍼스와 AIMS 프로그램 참여대학들의 파트너십 강화에 기여하는 계기가 되기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.
논문은 5월 15일~6월30일 온라인 신청서 접수 및 제출을 통해 참여 가능하다.
