동국대 WISE캠퍼스, ‘환동해 지역 글로컬대학 공동추진을 위한 지·산·학 업무협약 체결

환동해 지역 지자체 3곳과 동국대 WISE캠퍼스, 포스텍은 30일 11시 포항시청 대회의실에서 한국원자력연구원, 포스코홀딩스(주), ㈜포스코퓨처엠, ㈜에코프로비엠과 함께 글로컬대학 공동추진을 위한 지자체-산업체-대학 업무 협약식을 가졌다.

이번 협약식은 환동해 지역의 대학과 지방자치단체, 연구기관, 산업계가 글로컬대학의 선도적인 모델을 구축하고 지역 사회를 넘어 국가의 발전을 이끈다는 취지로 지산학연 협력 체계 구축을 위해 마련됐다.

각 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 앞으로 ▲ 지자체의 글로컬대학에 대한행·재정적 지원 ▲ 대학의 지역 전략산업 분야 인재양성을 위한 교육 지원 ▲ 협약기관(지·산·학·연)의 원자력·수소에너지·이차전지 등 지역 전략산업 분야에 대한 공동 프로젝트 발굴 및 수행 협력 ▲ 협력기관(지·산·학·연)의 인적, 물적 교류 및 포괄적 상호 협력 지원 등을 추진하게 된다.

특히, 동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 이번 협약을 통해 경주 SMR 국가산업단지, 포항 이차전지 특화단지 등 지역 산업분야 혁신과 발전을 위한 인재 양성을 추진한다.

이영경 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스총장은 “글로컬대학 30은 지역이 국가의 발전을 이끌어가는 혁신 주체가 되자는 것이다. 동국대 WISE캠퍼스와 지역 기관이 연대하여 친환경 에너지 자원인 SMR, 이차전지 산업 등에 필요한 인재를 양성하여 지역의 발전과 혁신을 이끌 수 있도록 할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
