올해로 50회를 맞이하는 이번 행사는 예술창작 활동을 통해 지역예술인의 교류와 발전을 도모하고 시민들에게 문화예술을 통한 정서함양과 어울림의 장을 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
경주예총에 따르면 이번 공연은 음악협회 주관으로 13일 19시 30분부터 경주예술의 전당 원화홀에서 ‘리커버리’라는 주제로 지친 시민들을 위로하고 희망의 메시지를 전하는 클래식을 선사한다.
이어 연극협회는 15일 19시 30분부터 같은 장소에서 일제강점기 시대 강제 징병으로 억울하게 죽은 사람들을 기리며 과거사를 재조명하는 연극 ‘귀로’를 무대에 올린다.
또 국악협회는 16일 19시 30분부터 같은 장소에서 ‘액막이 타령’, ‘춘색만성’, ‘너나들이’ 등 실내악과 사물놀이, 무용 등이 어우러진 다채로운 국악공연을 펼친다.
더불어 연예예술인협회는 17일 16시부터 황성공원 타임캡슐공원에서 ‘환희(정수라)’, ‘돌아온청춘(오승대)’, ‘영일만친구(레이지본)’ 등 다양한 장르의 대중음악을 선보이며 시민들에게 즐거움을 선사할 예정이다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “문화예술의 본질은 창작과 향유에 있는 만큼, 공감과 확산을 이루는 예술제 본연의 의미를 살려 시민들에게 활력을 주는 예술 축제로 이어 나가길 바란다”며 “행사기간 동안 시민 여러분들의 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁 드린다”고 말했다.
