공단은 지난 5월부터 여름철 재난에 대비해 재난대응체계 구축, 안전점검, 재해물자 확보 및 유지 관리 등의 안전관리 활동을 시행하고 있다.
이날 조성돈 이사장은 침수 및 사면 낙석 등의 재해가 우려되는 방폐장 2단계 건설현장 등 취약지역 수방자재 확보, 배수로 정비 등 침수 예방조치 상태를 확인하고 안전조치를 철저히 이행하라고 지시했다.
또한 근로자 휴게 및 위생시설 확보상태, 식수 및 휴식시간 제공 여부 등 폭염에 대비한 안전조치가 제대로 시행되고 있는지도 점검했다.
조성돈 한국원자력환경공단 이사장은 “국민들이 안심할 수 있도록 방폐물 처분시설 전반에 대한 안전관리를 철저히 이행해 안전사고가 발생하지 않도록 만전을 기해 달라”고 당부했다.
