[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 국내 마늘 최대 생산지인 창녕군은 지난 1일 관내 5개 농협 공판장에서 2023년산 햇마늘에 대한 초매식을 개최했다.

초매식은 그 해 해당 농산물의 첫 경매를 알리는 행사이다.

행사 당일은 한 낮 기온이 30도를 웃도는 무더운 날씨임에도 창녕군 및 인근 시·군의 마늘 생산 농민과 상인들이 몰려 이번 초매식에 뜨거운 관심을 보였다.

이날 경매에는 3,580여 농가가 참여해 총 1천 779t의 물량이 출하됐다.

특히 이날 행사에는 성낙인 창녕군수 및 조해진 국회의원 등을 비롯한 여러 관계자들이 참석해 경매 현장을 둘러보고 마늘 생산 농가들을 격려했다.
