3일 영덕군에 따르면 이번 대회는 때 이른 무더위를 고려해 참가자들의 안전과 건강을 최우선으로 한다는 원칙에 따라 풀 코스 종목을 폐지하고 하프 코스, 10㎞, 5㎞ 3개 종목으로 진행했다.
고래불해수욕장에서 출발하고 도착하는 코스로, 영덕군의 청정한 쪽빛 바다와 명품 해안 둘레길 블루로드를 한껏 만끽할 수 있어 이색적이고 특별한 마라톤 코스로 각광받았다.
하프 코스 남자부 1위는 1시간 13분 20초를 기록한 박현준 씨가, 여자부는 1위는 1시간 35분 26초를 기록한 이봉헌 씨가 각각 차지했으며, 10km 남자·여자부는 장성연 씨와 강현지 씨, 5km 남자·여자부는 Tristan Mannix 씨, 장은숙 씨가 각각 1위의 영광을 안았다.
이밖에 부대행사로 이뤄진 3㎞ 건강 걷기는 ‘2023 군민화합 한마음 걷기대회’라는 이름으로 영덕군 민선 8기 1주년을 기념하는 특별 행사로 진행돼 1,000여 명의 지역 주민과 관광객이 함께 어우러지는 화합의 장으로 펼쳐졌다.
해당 행사는 참가자들이 반환점을 돌아 준비된 솔숲 보물찾기와 마술 서커스 이벤트존에서 다 같이 모여 보물을 찾고 마술 서커스 공연을 관람하는 등 남녀노소 함께 즐길 수 있는 프로그램으로 구성됐다.
영덕군육상연맹 권오웅 회장은 “영덕경찰서, 영덕소방서, 모범운전자회, 자율방범대, 해병전우회, 의용소방대, 적십자봉사회, 송아리 가족봉사단, 아이코리아 영덕군지회 등 관내 기관과 사회단체들의 적극적인 도움으로 성공적이고 안전하게 대회를 마칠 수 있었다”며 고마운 마음을 전했다.
김광열 영덕군수는 “무더운 날씨에도 대회 참가와 운영을 위해 영덕군을 찾아주신 선수 여러분과 기관·사회단체 여러분께서 건강한 달리기와 함께 영덕군의 자연과 경치를 마음껏 누리시길 바란다”고 환영했다.
