【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박희경 기자=영덕군은 5일 영덕군 제2농공단지에서 ‘경북 에너지산업융복합단지 종합지원센터’ 착공식을 개최했다.

이날 착공식은 김광열 영덕군수를 비롯해 이달희 경상북도 경제부지사, 홍수경 산업통상자원부 에너지기술 과장 등 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
영덕군에 따르면 총사업비 190억 원을 들여 본격 착공에 들어가는 종합지원센터는 건축 연면적 8,300㎡에 지하 1층 지상 4층 규모의 본부동과 실습동 2개로 건립될 예정이다.
건물 내부에는 풍력단지 관제실과 강의실, 기업 임대공간 15실 등이 들어서게 되며, 내년 6월 완공을 목표로 하고 있다.
종합지원센터는 영덕군에 구축될 에너지산업 융복합단지의 컨트롤타워 역할을 수행하는 것을 목적으로, 앞으로 풍력산업 집적화를 위해 기업 유치와 단지 운영관리, 국제협력, 기업지원, 인력양성, 산학 네트워크 등의 임무를 융복합단지 내 여러 관계기관과 협력해 단계적으로 추진하게 된다.
영덕군은 지난 2005년부터 국내 최초로 상업용 육상풍력 발전단지가 가동됐고 2020년 8월에는 영덕군 일대가 ‘경상북도 에너지산업융복합단지’로 지정·고시됨에 따라 풍력에너지 메카로 거듭나고 있는 지역으로, 향후 계획된 절차를 충실히 이행해 대한민국 친환경 에너지산업을 선도하겠다는 계획이다.
김광열 영덕군수는 “종합지원센터가 재생에너지산업의 중심지로서 산업의 집적효과를 극대화하고 에너지 기업 간의 기술혁신과 산학연 연계 등으로 시너지를 창출함으로써 지역 경제 활성화와 일자리 창출에 이바지할 것”이라며, “경상북도와 함께 힘을 모아 경상북도 에너지산업융복합단지의 성공적인 조성을 위해 지역의 모든 역량을 쏟아붓겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

According to Yeongdeok-gun, the Comprehensive Support Center, which will begin construction at a total project cost of 19 billion won, will be built with a total floor area of 8,300 square meters and will consist of a headquarters building and two practice buildings with one basement floor and four floors above ground.
Inside the building, there will be a wind farm control room, lecture room, and 15 corporate rental spaces, with the goal of completion in June next year.
The Comprehensive Support Center aims to serve as a control tower for the energy industry convergence complex to be built in Yeongdeok-gun. For the integration of the wind power industry in the future, the center will attract companies, operate and manage the complex, international cooperation, support companies, nurture human resources, and provide industry-university networks. The mission will be carried out step by step in cooperation with various related organizations within the convergence complex.
Yeongdeok-gun has been operating commercial onshore wind power generation complexes for the first time in Korea since 2005, and in August 2020, the entire Yeongdeok-gun area was designated and announced as the 'Gyeongsangbuk-do Energy Industry Convergence Complex'. It plans to faithfully implement the procedures to lead the eco-friendly energy industry in Korea.
Gwang-Yeol Kim, Mayor of Yeongdeok-gun, said, "As the center of the renewable energy industry, the Comprehensive Support Center will maximize the industrial aggregation effect and create synergies through technological innovation among energy companies and linkages between industry, academia, and research, thereby contributing to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs."
