동국대 WISE캠퍼스 해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터, 원자력 특강 개최

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터는 지난 13일 교내 강의실에서 울산과학기술원(이하 UNIST) 원자력공학과 방인철 교수를 초청해 ‘해오름동맹과 SMR(소형모듈원자로)’ 주제로 특강을 개최했다고 14일 밝혔다.

해오름동맹 원자력혁신센터는 ㈜한국수력원자력과 해오름동맹 3개 지자체(경주, 포항, 울산)의 예산 지원으로 3개시에 소재하고 있는 6개 대학(동국대 WISE캠퍼스, 위덕대, 포항공대, 한동대, UNIST, 울산대)에서 수행하고 있는 3개 분야(원전지역 특화연구, 지역협력전략연구, 지역수용성 증진연구)의 33개 세부사업을 지원하고 있다.

방인철 교수(UNIST)는 ‘해오름동맹과 SMR(소형모듈원자로)’란 주제로 쉬우면서 흥미롭게 강연을 펼쳐 강연에 참여한 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교직원과 경주시민 100여명의 열띤 호응을 얻었다. 강연 후 참석자를 대상으로 강연내용에 대한 퀴즈를 출제하고 정답자에겐 소정의 선물도 지급하였다. 또한 참석자 등으로부터 다양한 질문을 받고 답하는 시간도 가졌다.

이 자리에서 방인철 교수(UNIST)는 해오름동맹이 가지는 의미와 SMR 기술개발 현황과 전망에 대한 설명과 함께 미래 SMR 산업 생태계 조성방안에 대한 내용을 다루었다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus Haeoreum Alliance Nuclear Innovation Center announced on the 14th that it held a special lecture on ‘Haeoreum Alliance and SMR (Small Modular Reactor)’ by inviting Professor Bang In-cheol of the Department of Nuclear Engineering at Ulsan Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) on the 13th.

The Haeoreum Alliance Nuclear Innovation Center is supported by budget support from Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and 3 Haeoreum Alliance local governments (Gyeongju, Pohang, Ulsan), and six universities (Dongguk University WISE Campus, Widuk University, Pohang University of Science and Technology, Handong Global University, UNIST, Ulsan University) is supporting 33 detailed projects in 3 fields (Nuclear Power Area Specialized Research, Regional Cooperation Strategy Research, Regional Acceptability Enhancement Research).

Professor Bang In-cheol (UNIST) delivered an easy and interesting lecture on the subject of ‘Haeoreum Alliance and SMR (Small Module Reactor)’ and received enthusiastic responses from 100 Gyeongju citizens and faculty members of Dongguk University’s WISE Campus who participated in the lecture. After the lecture, a quiz was set up for the attendees on the contents of the lecture, and a small gift was given to those who answered the correct answer. They also had time to ask and answer various questions from attendees.

At this meeting, Professor Bang In-cheol (UNIST) explained the meaning of the Haeoreum Alliance and the current status and prospects of SMR technology development, as well as plans to create an ecosystem for the future SMR industry.
