브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당은 17일 김건희 여사가 리투아니아 방문 도중 호객 행위를 당해 명품숍에서 쇼핑을 했다는 대통령실의 해명과 관련 "국민을 호구 취급한다"고 맹비판했다.
이날 국회에서 열린 민주당 최고위원회의에선 이 문제에 대한 최고위원들의 질타가 이어졌다.
정청래 민주당 최고위원은 "명품 쇼핑을 한 게 호객 행위 때문이라는 보도가 있었는데 사실이 아니길 바란다. 말도 되지 않는 대통령실의 해명은 오히려 더 큰 화를 키울 뿐이다"라고 지적했다.
박찬대 최고위원은 "거짓 해명은 더 큰 화를 초래하는 법이다"라며 "대통령실은 국민을 호갱 취급하지 말고, 김 여사 명품 쇼핑 의혹에 대해 있는 그대로 사실을 밝히기 바란다"고 말했다.
장경태 최고위원도 "현지 언론에선 명품매장 관계자의 말을 인용해 '영부인은 예고도 없이 불쑥 찾아왔다', '쇼핑하고 인사도 하고 기쁘다'고 보도한 바 있다"며 "국민을 얼마나 바보로 생각하면 거짓으로 당당할 수 있는지 모르겠다"고 했다.
김병주 의원도 이날 라디오 '전영신의 아침저널'에서 "제가 확인해 보니까 명품 숍에서는 호객 행위를 하지 않는다고 한다. 특히 리투아니아 문화에서는 호객 행위가 별로 없다"면서 "만약에 호객 행위를 했다 쳐도 경호원들이 16명이나 따라갔는데 경호원들을 뚫고 어떻게 호객 행위가 가능한가"라고 꼬집었다.
그러면서 "이런 일이 발생했을 때 제대로 된 해명이 필요한데, 해명 자체가 너무 구차했다. 이러한 해명이 오히려 국민들의 감정을 더 분노스럽게 만드는 지점"이라고 덧붙였다.
최재성 전 청와대 정무수석도 이날 라디오 '최경영의 최강시사'에서 "국민들은 물폭탄 맞고 있는데 김 여사는 명품 폭탄을 맞았다"며 "호객 당해서 샀으면 호갱이다. 그러면 우리 호갱 영부인이 국민을 완전히 호구 취급한 것"이라고 비난했다.
