경주대, 미국 캐롤라인대학교와 공동학위제 운영을 위한 업무협약 체결

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주대학교는 지난 12일 총장실에서 미국 캐롤라인대학교(Caroline University) 와 공동학위제 운영을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 18일 밝혔다.

이번 업무협약식에는 경주대학교의 김일윤 설립자, 이동한 총장, 미국 캐롤라인대학교 James Lee 총장 및 양 대학의 관계자가 참석했다.

양 대학은 이번 업무협약 체결을 통해 상호 존중과 신뢰를 바탕으로 국제 협력 촉진 및 글로벌 인재양성을 위한 양 대학의 요구에 따라 공동 복수학위를 취득할 수 있는 공동학위제를 운영하기로 합의했다.

협약의 주요 내용은 양 대학의 상생발전과 우수인재 양성을 위한 교직원 및 학생교류, 공동연구 및 학생교류 프로그램의 실시, 학점교류 등으로 양 대학은 앞으로 학술교류 및 인적자원 교류를 통해 다양한 분야에서 상호 협력하며 적극적인 교류활동을 이어 나갈 예정이다.

경주대학교 이동한 총장은 “경주대학교가 통합대학으로 성장함에 있어 미국 캐롤라인대학교와의 업무협약은 중요한 전환점이 될 수 있으며 경주대학교가 글로벌 리더를 양성할 수 있는 대학으로 더욱더 성장해 나갈 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.

미국 캐롤라인대학교 총장 James Lee는 “천년 고도 경주시의 국제적 브랜드를 가진 경주대학교가 학생들에게 미주지역 및 아프리카지역에 진출하는데 있어 캐롤라인대학교가 거점이 되어 우수한 글로벌 리더를 양성하는 선도적인 대학이 될 수 있도록 상호 협력하게 되어 기쁘다”라고 말했다.
