【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 21일 천북 오야리에서 월 2500톤 규모 사료 생산 능력을 갖춘 ‘경주축협 완전배합사료(TMR) 사료공장’ 준공식을 가졌다고 밝혔다.

경주시에 따르면 이 날 준공식에는 주낙영 시장, 이철우 시의장 및 도·시의원, 농협중앙회 축산지원본부장, 농협사료 대표이사를 비롯한지역 조합장, 조합원등 350여 명이 참석했다.
경주축협 TMR사료공장은 2만6320㎡ 부지에 170억의 사업비를 들여 6982㎡ 공장규모 등 총 3개 동으로 건립됐다.
이번 TMR사료공장 건립 시 친환경 미생물 발효센터도 추가 건립해 보다 합리적인 가격에 양질의 사료 공급이 가능해졌다.
특히 농가들의 오랜 숙원으로 국내외 어려운 축산환경 속에서도 생산성 향상과 더불어 경쟁력을 확보하는 기틀이 마련됐다는 평가를 받고 있다.
향후 경주축산농협은 월 5500톤 규모로 시설을 증설해 양질의 사료를 대량으로 생산·보급하는 등 축산농가 경쟁력 강화에 더욱 기여할 예정이다.
하상욱 경주축산농협장은 “우리 조합원과 지역 축산인들의 오랜 염원인 TMR사료공장을 준공하게 돼 매우 기쁘다”며 “오랜 시간 체계적으로 준비한 만큼 차별화된 사료를 공급해 농가 사료비 절감에 기여하겠다”는 포부를 밝혔다.
주낙영 시장은 “그간 소 값 하락과 지속되는 사료 값 인상으로 고생하는 축산농가에게 이번 TMR사료공장 준공으로 축산농가 경영비를 낮출 수 있을 것으로 기대된다”며 “시에서도 조사료 제조비 및 사료비 지원 등 다각적인 지원을 통해 농가 소득증대에 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.

The Gyeongju Livestock Cooperative TMR Feed Factory was built on a 26,320㎡ site with a total of 3 buildings, including a 6982㎡ factory, with a project cost of 17 billion won.
During the construction of the TMR feed factory, an eco-friendly microbial fermentation center was additionally built, enabling the supply of high-quality feed at a more reasonable price.

Mayor Joo Nak-yeong said, “It is expected that livestock farmers who have suffered from a drop in cattle prices and a continuous increase in feed prices will be able to lower their management costs with the completion of the TMR feed factory.”
