한수원에 따르면 와전류탐상검사 자동평가 기술(Automated Eddy Current Test)은 발전소에서 발생하는 증기를 냉각하는 중요 열교환 설비인 복수기 전열관의 건전성을컴퓨터 프로그램을 활용해 자동으로 평가하는 기술을 말한다.
이 기술은 기존 평가 방법보다 데이터해석, 결함 판정 등에 있어 정확성을 높인 것이 특징이다.
한수원은 이번 기술 개발을 위해 국내 전 원전의 복수기 전열관에서 발생한 결함 유형분석뿐만 아니라 발생 가능성이 있는 결함에 대한 특성까지 분석해 프로그램화했고, 국내 모든 원전에적용이 가능하도록 각 발전소 현장에 시범적용해 성능을 확인했다.
신호철 한수원 중앙연구원장은 “이번에 개발한 와전류탐상검사 자동평가기술은 올 하반기부터 국내 모든 원전에 적용할 계획이며 이를 통해 검사 기간을 단축하는 것은 물론, 검사 신뢰도를 높여 원자력발전소 안전성이 더욱 높아질 것으로 기대된다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 한수원은 중소기업과의 상생발전을 위해 향후 이 기술을 무상으로 중소기업에 전수할 예정이다.
