이번 사업은 ‘발전소 주변지역 지원에 관한 법률’에 따라 교육장학지원, 지역경제협력, 주변환경개선, 지역복지, 지역문화진흥 분야의 지원사업을 진행하며 주민 단체, 지자체, 기관의 다양한 아이디어를 공개 모집하여 신사업 발굴 및 효과적이고 투명한 지원사업을 추진하게 된다.
2024년도 사업자지원사업 공모 사업비는 총 47억원 이며, 주변 지역(동경주) 및 주변 외 지역(경주시내)의 행사 및 단체를 대상으로 공모 접수를 진행한다. 자세한 내용은 월성원자력본부 홈페이지 공지사항에서 확인할 수 있다.
김한성 월성원자력본부장은 “월성본부는 항상 주변 지역에 힘이 되기 위해 노력할 것이며, 공정한 공모 과정을 통해 지역특화 랜트마크 사업을 발굴하고 주민 다수가 체감 가능한 실질적으로 도움이 될 수 있는 사업을 추진하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
