브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 여성가족부는 '2023 새만금 세계 스카우트 잼버리 대회'의 미흡한 진행과 관련, 책임 의식이 부족하다는 지적에 "동의할 수 없다"는 입장을 밝혔다.
조민경 여가부 대변인은 14일 정부서울청사에서 열린 정례 브리핑에서 '잼버리 파행' 관련한 입장을 묻는 질문에 "여가부는 잼버리 대회가 원활하게 진행되지 못한 것에 대해 주무 부처로서 무거운 책임감을 갖고 있다"고 말했다.
그는 여가부가 잼버리 파행에 대한 책임 의식이 부족하다는 일각의 주장에 대해서도 "동의할 수 없다"면서 "김현숙 장관은 잼버리 조직위원장으로서 무거운 책임감을 갖고 있다"고 강조했다.
조 대변인은 이어 "감사원에서 잼버리 조직위원회와 전라북도, 여가부에 대해 감사를 진행항 것으로 알고 있다"며 "앞으로 진행되는 감사에도 충실하게 임할 예정"이라고 했다.
그는 시설 분야에 편성된 예산이 너무 적었다는 지적에는 "조직위 예산 편성·사용에 대해서는 감사원 감사에서 짚어보게 될 것"이라며 즉답을 피했다.
태풍으로 인해 추가된 잼버리 행사 비용에 대해서도 "아직 잔류 인원이 남아있기 때문에 비용 부분은 나중에 말할 수 있을 것"이라며 답하지 않았다.
조직위에 파견된 여가부 공무원 4명에 대해서도 "개인정보 때문에 신상 공개는 어려울 것 같다. 파견 기간은 올해 연말까지 돼 있는 직원도 있는데 정확한 건 파악해서 다시 알리겠다"고 말했다.
한편, 잼버리 세계대회 파행과 관련해선 감사원 감사와 함께 국회 국정감사에서도 크게 다뤄질 예정이다.
한덕수 국무총리도 이날 국무회의에서 "정부는 이번 행사가 남겨준 우리들의 과제에 대해 한치의 소홀함도 없이 철저히 분석하고 성찰하는 시간을 갖도록 하겠다"고 말하기도 했다.
국회 여성가족위원회는 오는 25일 회의를 열고 잼버리 사태를 되짚어볼 예정이다.
여가위 여당 간사인 신현영 더불어민주당 의원은 이날 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "김현숙 여성가족부 장관은 작년 국감 때 지적된, 잼버리 폭우·폭염 대책에 대해 잼버리 준비 이상 없음을 호언장담했고, 올 7월까지도 잼버리 현장점검 잘하고 있다고 앞다퉈 브리핑을 내왔다. 하지만 하지만 결과는 참담했으며 현실을 제대로 인식하지 못한 대회 기간의 유체이탈 브리핑은 이번 정부의 수준을 가늠케 했다"고 꼬집었다.
