브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 검찰이 화천대유자산관리 대주주 김만배씨가 신학림 전 언론노조 위원장과 한 인터뷰 내용 일부가 허위라는데 초점을 두고 수사를 하고 있다.
김만배씨가 이 인터뷰를 통해 대장동 사건의 화살을 당시 윤석열 대선후보에게 돌리려 했다고 본 것이다.
7일 서울중앙지검관계자는 기자들과 만난 자리에서 "김만배씨가 유력 언론인을 내세워 대장동 개발 비리 본질을 호도하는 인터뷰를 대선 직전에 내보낸 게 사안의 본질"이라며 "보도 내용이나 시기, 민감성 등에 비춰보면, 관련자들이 치밀한 계획을 세운 것으로 보인다"고 밝혔다.
이 관계자는 "김만배씨도 인터뷰의 허위성에 대해 어느 정도 인정하고 있다"면서 "신학림 전 위원장과의 인터뷰가 이뤄진 과정 등을 면밀히 조사하고 있다"고 했다.
또한 김만배씨가 대장동 개발 이후 관계자들에게 의도적으로 허위 발언을 하도록 유도한 정황도 있다면서 이 역시 종합적으로 고려해 수사를 진행하고 있다고 덧붙였다.
검찰은 아울러 김씨와 신 전 위원장간 인터뷰 과정에서 오간 현금 1억6500만원의 성격에 대해서도 규명할 방침이다. 검찰은 이 돈을 허위 인터뷰를 한 댓가로 보고 있으나, 신 전 위원장 측은 김씨에게 '혼맥'(책) 1~3권을 판매하고 받은 돈이라고 주장하고 있다.
김씨와 신 전 위원장은 도서판매 계약서까지 작성했는데, 검찰은 계약 날짜가 인터뷰 이전 시기로 소급해 작성한 것으로 의심하고 있다.
검찰 관계자는 "현재까지 확인된 정황에 의하면 단순히 우연히, 1회성에 그친다고 보기 어렵다"면서 "사전 모의한 정황이 충분히 확인된다. 인터뷰 경위, 금품 대가 관계에 대해 계속 살펴보고 있다"고 말했다.

Prosecutors said, "Kim Man-bae submitted a 'false interview in Daejang-dong' just before the presidential election."

Kim and former chairman Shin even drew up a book sales contract, which prosecutors suspect was written retroactively to the time before the interview.
