[김완영 기자 = 동두천] 동두천시 중앙동 새마을남녀지도자협의회는 지난 14일, 관내 주거취약가구를 방문하여 사랑의 집수리 봉사활동을 실시했다고 밝혔다.
이날 활동은 지난 6월 18일 도배와 장판 교체를 지원했던 주거 취약가구를 대상으로 낡고 부식된 싱크대를 새것으로 교체 설치하였다.
중앙동 새마을남녀지도자협의회는 저소득 취약계층을 대상으로 사랑의 집수리 봉사활동을 통해 도배, 장판, 싱크대 교체 등 주거환경 개선 지원사업을 수년째 이어오고 있다.
차유철 회장은 “지난 6월에 도배와 장판은 교체해드렸지만, 설치가 필요한 싱크대까지 교체하지 못해 마음에 걸렸는데 이번 기회로 어르신이 깔끔하게 정리된 환경에서 지낼 수 있게 되어 보람을 느낀다”라고 소감을 전했다.
