브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= ‘배달의 민족’의 물류를 담당하는 우아한청년들이 2022년에 이어 2023년에도 전 업종을 통틀어 산업재해 발생 1위 기업이라는 불명예를 기록했다.
4일 윤건영 더불어민주당 의원이 고용노동부 산하 근로복지공단으로부터 제출받은 자료에 따르면 올해 1월부터 8월까지 신청된 산업재해 건수는 1만9811건이었다.
산업재해 급여 대상으로 인정된 건은 1만6924건으로 하루 평균 70건에 달했다. 이 중 사업자가 업무 중 사망했을 때 인정되는 유족급여 승인 건수는 8개월간 107건으로, 약 이틀에 한 번 꼴로 노동자 사망 사건이 발생한 셈이다.
산재 신청이 가장 많았던 우아한청년들 소속 노동자가 신청한 산재 급여 및 유족 급여 신청은 총 1319건이다. 이 중 1278건이 산업재해로 인정됐다.
우아한청년들은 현대자동차 동부서비스센터와 함께 유족급여 신청 건수도 같은 기간 7건으로 1위였다. 특히 7건 중 7건 모두가 사고로 인한 유족급여 신청이었다. 이는 주로 오토바이 등을 이용해 배달을 하는 라이더들의 사고 발생 위험도가 높다는 점을 보여준다.
우아한청년들은 2022년에도 전체 기업의 산업재해 승인 1위(1837건)였다. 우아한청년들의 산재 승인 건수는 2018년 31건, 2019년 163건, 2020년 376건, 2021년 941건으로 매년 급증하고 있다.
한편, 우아한청년들과 비슷한 플랫폼 업체인 ‘쿠팡이츠’의 올해 산재 승인은 181건(19위)이었다. 쿠팡이츠와 같은 쿠팡 계열사는 모두 4개 기업(쿠팡풀필먼트서비스 대구센터, 쿠팡 주식회사, 쿠팡로지스틱스서비스유한회사, 쿠팡이츠서비스유한회사)이 상위 50위 안에 이름을 올렸다. 쿠팡 관련 회사의 산재 승인 건수는 8개월 간 1087건이었고, 유족 급여 승인은 1건으로 나타났다.
산업재해 신청 건수만 놓고 보면 우아한청년들에 이어 현대중공업(일반 756, 유족 7), 대한석탄공사 도계광업소(일반 693, 유족 4), 현대자동차 동부서비스센터(일반 537, 유족 7), 대우건설(일반 492, 유족 3), 기아자동차 화성공장(일반 429, 유족 3), 쿠팔풀필먼트서비스 대구센터(일반 365, 유족 2), 쿠팡 주식회사(일반 360), 대우조선해양(일반 346, 유족 2) 순이었다.
산업재해 신청 및 승인 상위 50개 기업을 업종별로 분석해 보면, 산업재해는 건설업에서 압도적으로 많았다. 건설업만 놓고 보면 산재 승인 건수는 대우건설(일반 467, 유족 2), 한화(일반 304, 유족 0), 현대건설(일반 285, 유족 2), GS건설(일반 270, 유족 1), 삼성물산(일반 200, 유족 1)의 순이었다.
이에 윤건영 의원은 “우아한청년들이 작년에 이어 또다시 다빈도 산재 발생 기업 1위에 올랐다. 몇 년째 반복되는 산업재해 위험 지적에 회사 측은 안전 보장을 위한 제도를 보완을 약속했지만 수치 상으론 전혀 달라진 것이 없는 셈”이라고 비판했다.
윤 의원은 이어 “특히 건설업보다 높은 플랫폼 업체의 사망사고 통계를 보면, 이 문제를 더 이상 민간의 자율적 의지로 맡겨놓을 일인지 의문”이라며 “고용노동부 등 정부 차원에서 보다 면밀한 안전 관리 강화 방안을 마련해야 한다”고 지적했다.
