에버랜드 판다월드에서는 2020년 출생한 푸바오(福寶)에 이어 올해 7월 7일 아빠 러바오와 엄마 아이바오 사이에서 세계적인 멸종 취약종인 자이언트 판다 암컷 2마리가 자연 번식으로 태어난 바 있다.
에버랜드가 오는 15일 생후 100일을 맞는 쌍둥이 아기 판다에게 선물한 이름은 ‘루이바오(睿寶)’와 ‘후이바오(輝寶)’다.
보통 판다는 몸무게 200g 미만의 미숙아 상태로 태어나 초기 생존율이 매우 낮기 때문에 건강 상태가 안정기에 접어드는 생후 100일경 중국어로 된 이름을 지어주는 게 국제 관례다.
