【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 캠퍼스아시아에임즈(CAMPUS Asia-AIMS) 사업단은 지난 14일, 15일 경주에서 국내외 11개 대학이 참여하는 캠퍼스아시아에임즈 공동 교육과정 프로그램을 진행했다고 16일 밝혔다.

캠퍼스아시아에임즈(CAMPUS Asia-AIMS) 사업은 교육부가 한-아세안 대학 간 학점 상호인정, 공동 커리큘럼 개발 및 운영, 학술교류 등을 통해 아세안 지역 전문가 양성 및 대학 간 학술교류를 위해 추진하는 사업이다.
이번 공동 교육과정 프로그램에는 한국의 동국대 WISE캠퍼스를 비롯하여 부경대, 숙명여대, 한남대가 공동으로 참여했으며 말레이시아 마라기술공과대학을 비롯하여, 태국, 베트남, 필리핀, 인도네시아 등 아시아 7개 대학에서 온 에임즈(AIMS) 초청 학생 및 관계자 등 50여명이 참여했다.
동국대 WISE캠퍼스 캠퍼스아시아에임즈 사업단은 공동 교육과정을 주관하며 불국사 템플스테이, 신라문화제를 활용한 현장학습 및 문화체험 프로그램 등을 운영했다.
학생들은 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 투어, 1박 2일 불국사 템플스테이 체험, 황리단길 방문, 대릉원, 첨성대 등 문화제 관람, 신라문화제 참여 등을 통해 한국 문화를 체험했다.
권주경 동국대 캠퍼스아시아에임즈 사업단장은 “이번 공동교육과정은 교환학생들에게 신라 천년 역사문화도시이자 불교문화가 살아 있는 경주에서 불국사 템플스테이와 신라문화제를 통해 다양한 전통문화체험을 할 수 있는 기회를 제공했다.”며 “이를 통해 화랑정신을 바탕으로 한 글로벌 공동체 정신을 함양하는 계기가 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
한편, 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 캠퍼스아시아에임즈 사업은 호텔관광경영전공에 특화된 프로그램으로 스마트관광도시로 선정된 경주를 배경으로 아세안 지역 내 지속가능한 스마트관광 우수 인재를 양성하고 글로벌 전문가를 배출하고 있다. 특히 말레이시아 마라기술공과대학교 및 트렝가누대학 등과 교환학생 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
지난 10월 13일에는 동국대의 에임즈 파트너대학이 말레이시아 마라기술공과대 관광경영학과 학생 28명이 동국대 WISE캠퍼스를 방문하여 “Academic Visit 2023”을 개최하는 등 활발한 해외 교류 사업을 추진하고 있다.

Students experienced Korean culture through a tour of Dongguk University's WISE Campus, a 2-day and 1-night Bulguksa temple stay experience, a visit to Hwangridan-gil, viewing cultural festivals such as Daereungwon and Cheomseongdae, and participating in the Silla Cultural Festival.
Kwon Ju-kyung, head of the Dongguk University Campus Asia Ames Project, said, “This joint education course provided exchange students with the opportunity to experience various traditional cultures through the Bulguksa Temple Stay and Silla Cultural Festival in Gyeongju, a thousand-year historical and cultural city of Silla and a place where Buddhist culture is alive. “This will serve as an opportunity to foster a global community spirit based on the Hwarang spirit,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Dongguk University WISE Campus Campus Asia Ames project is a specialized program for the hotel and tourism management major, and is training excellent talent in sustainable smart tourism in the ASEAN region and producing global experts against the backdrop of Gyeongju, which was selected as a smart tourism city.
