이재명 대통령이 16일 세월호 12주기를 맞아 "국가가 존재하는 이유는 국민 생명·안전을 지키기 위함"이라며 "너무도 당연한 이 기본·원칙을 반드시 바로 세우겠다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 경기 안산 화랑유원지에서 열린 세월호 12주기 기억식에 참석해 추도사를 통해 이같이 말했다고 청와대가 전했다.
