이재명 대통령이 17일 “공직 본질은 국민이 맡긴 일을 대신하는 것”이라고 했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 청와대에서 열린 공공·유관기관 업무보고 모두 발언에서 이같이 말한 후 “가진 권한·예산·업무는 모두 국민으로부터 온 것으로 국가·국민을 위해, 대신해 그 권한·예산을 써야 한다”고 말했다.
그러면서 “지위 높고 역할이 클수록 영향도 크겠으나 말단 공직자라 해도 국가 일을 대신한다는 점에서 다를 게 없다”며 “하는 일 하나하나가 국민이 더 나은 삶을 살게 할지 더 어려워지게 할지 희망·절망적 사회를 만들지 영향을 미친다”고 했다.
또 “대통령이 가장 큰 책임을 지나 현장서 일 집행하는 공직자들 역시 국민 삶에 치명적 영향을 미칠 수 있다”며 "다른 기관들처럼 6개월 후 2차 업무보고를 받을 거니 그 사이 실적·성과를 쌓고 미처 파악 못한 부분은 제대로 점검해 달라”고 했다.
이번 보고는 총 102개 기관 대상으로 진행되며 44개 부처 유관기관·2026 신규 지정 공공기관 11곳 등도 포함됐다.
