한국종교협의회측은 “이 행사는 양종은 국제위원장의 사회로 진행된 행사는 유관순 열사 광장에서 추모각까지 이어진 ‘피스 랠리(Peace Rally)’로 문을 열었다. 이어 각계 대표의 분향 및 헌화, 국민의례가 엄숙하게 진행됐다.”면서“평화 기원 의식에서는 김병준 전교(유교), 상산 스님(불교), 최길춘 목사(기독교), 안진권 교회장(가정연합) 등 종단 대표자들이 고천문 낭독 및 합심기도를 통해 한반도의 평화와 안녕을 기원했다”고 전했다.
이어 독립의 정신을 되새기는 시간이 마련됐다. 효정평화통일합창단과 참석자 전원이 ‘3·1절 노래’를 제창한 후, 한원전·안정수 목사(기독교), 김병준 전교(유교), 상산·동월 스님(불교), 백정현 회장(천주교), 변중호 교구장(가정연합), 김정현 부회장(여성종교협의회)등 종단 대표 8인이 기미독립선언문을 낭독하며 107년 전 그날의 감동을 재현했다.
