대한기자협회는 11월23일자 보도자료에서 “대한기자협회(회장 이창호)가 주최, 국제연합뉴스가 주관하는 "글로벌 브랜드 대상"은 대한민국 의정 대상과 함께 8년째 이어온 이번 시상식은 지난 21일 오후 2시, 국회도서관 대강당에서 개최됐다”고 알렸다.
이 보도자료에 따르면, 이날 사단법인 '스포츠 루다'는 전직 프로야구 선수이자 프로골퍼인 조현 이사장이 설립한 법인으로, 환경적 문제, 경제적 상황, 전문가의 도움이 필요한 스포츠 인재들을 위해 국제 스포츠 교류, 스포츠 인재육성 지원, 취약계층 스포츠 참여지원, 재능기부, 자원봉사 및 나눔을 실천하고 있는 공로로 ’2023 글로벌 브랜드 대상‘을 받았다.
조현 이사장은 인터뷰에서 “취약계층 가정을 대상으로 1박2일 '가족 캠핑 & 스포츠 체험' 행사를 매년 개최하고 있다.” 며 “환경적, 경제적으로 어려움을 겪는 가정의 자녀들이, 골프, 야구, 수영, 캠핑, 바비큐 파티, 불멍, 영화감상 등의 다양한 여가 활동과 스포츠를 경험할 수 있는 기회를 전액 무상으로 제공한다”고 말했다. 이어 “2023년 글로벌브랜드대상을 수상하게 되어 매우 영광스럽고 감사하다고 마음을 전했다.”며 “향후 스포츠 저변확대를 비롯한 국제스포츠교류, 스포츠인재육성지원과 취약계층 계절별 캠핑과 스포츠 프로그램을 접목한 행사를 확장시켜 지속적으로 진행할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
