공공하수도 평가는 공공하수도관리청의 운영과 관리 실태를 점검해 경쟁력 있는 하수도 시스템을 구축하고 운영·관리의 효율성을 높이기 위해 매년 실시한다.
올해의 경우 전국 161개 지자체를 대상으로 공통 분야, 운영·관리 분야 등 4개 분야 38개 항목에 대한 평가를 시행했다.
영덕군과 공공하수처리시설 관리대행 운영사 ㈜에코비트워터는 공공하수처리시설의 탁월한 운영과 방류수에 대한 철저한 수질기준 준수 등에서 높은 평가를 받아 장관상을 수상했다.
김광열 영덕군수는 “이번 수상에 만족하지 않고 앞으로도 공공하수도 사업에 대한 시설 개선과 방류 수질 개선을 꾸준히 이뤄 군민께 쾌적한 주거환경을 제공하고 지역의 환경을 지켜나갈 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Yeongdeok County Mayor Kim Gwang-yeol said, “We are not satisfied with this award, and we will continue to do our best to provide a comfortable residential environment for residents and protect the local environment by continuously improving facilities and discharged water quality for public sewerage projects.”
