브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 현대백화점그룹이 중소벤처기업부와 함께 발달장애인의 경제적 자립 지원에 나선다.
현대백화점그룹은 6일 경남 진주시 발달장애인 특화사업장 구축 사업에 1억원을 후원한다고 밝혔다.
중소벤처기업부는 2020년부터 발달장애인들의 경제적 자립을 돕기 위해 전국 8개 지역에 특화사업장을 열고 창업 교육 및 운영 노하우를 제공하는 장애인 지원사업을 진행하고 있다.
앞서 현대백화점그룹은 2022년 이 사업에 처음 참여해 광주광역시 내 특화사업장 구축에 1억원을 후원한 바 있다.
이번에 전달된 후원금은 진주시 특화사업장에 특용작물인 새싹삼을 재배하는 스마트팜 구축 및 운영을 위해 쓰일 예정이다.
현대백화점그룹도 판로지원에도 나선다. 진주시 특화사업장에 새싹삼의 상품성을 높이는 품질 개선을 위한 컨설팅을 제공하고, 향후 검수를 통해 현대백화점 식품관 등에서 판매할 계획이다.
현대백화점그룹 지주회사인 현대지에프홀딩스 관계자는 “ESG(환경·사회·지배구조) 경영 방침의 일환으로 진행하게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 그룹 통합 ESG 브랜드인 ‘리그린·위드림’을 통해 복지 사각지대에 있는 사회적 약자를 찾아 지원해나가는 진정성 있는 사회공헌사업을 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
