연말연시를 맞아 대전신세계 희망산타원정대가 지역 어린이들을 위한 활동을 시작했다.
대전신세계 Art & Science (이하 대전신세계)는 초록우산어린이재단 대전지역본부와 함께 지난 16일 대전 유성구 소재 천양원에서 ‘2023 대전신세계 크리스마스 희망산타원정대’ 후원금 전달식을 열고 후원금 2,727만원을 후원했다.
이날 전달식에서 대전신세계는 희망산타원정대 운영을 위한 후원금과 대전신세계 내에 위치한 과학관 신세계 넥스페리움과 대전 엑스포 아쿠아리움 초대권 등 크리스마스 선물을 전달했다.
‘2023 대전신세계 크리스마스 희망산타원정대는 오는 23일까지 대전지역 아동양육시설 9개소를 대상으로 진행된다.
희망산타원정대는 추운 겨울을 보내고 있는 아동양육시설 아동에게 따뜻한 희망과 행복을 선물하는 신세계의 대표적인 사회공헌 활동이다.
특히, 대전신세계는 지역 상생과 사회 공헌을 동시에 잡은 ‘크리스마스 푸드트럭’을 매년 지속적으로 진행하고 있다.
‘크리스마스 푸드트럭’은 지역 청년운영자들로 구성된 ‘청년푸드트럭협동조합’ 소속 푸드트럭들이 지역 9개 양육시설을 찾아 사전조사를 통해 파악한 선호메뉴를 아동들이 마음껏 먹을 수 있도록 선물하는 대전신세계의 대표적인 사회공헌 활동이다.
대전신세계는 지난 2021년 개점 이후 청년푸드트럭 협동조합과 함께 매년 연말과 ‘가정의 달’ 5월 두 차례씩 지역 양육시설 9개소를 찾고 있다.
이와 함께 희망산타원정대의 첫 방문지인 천양원에는 대전신세계 임직원 봉사단이 함께 찾아 아동들에게 크리스마스 선물을 전달하고, 푸드트럭 배식 도우미 등 다양한 봉사활동을 진행했다.
