[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 합천군이 양파를 활용한 가공제품을 개발해 화제가 되고 있다.

합천군은 지난달 28일 중간 보고회에 이어 지난 15일 농업기술센터 내 소회의실에서 ‘농산물가공기술 표준화 제품개발 용역 최종보고회’를 가졌다.

농산물가공기술 표준화 사업은 농촌진흥청·지방농촌진흥기관에서 연구 개발된 기술을 시군 현장에 적용해 지역 특색을 반영해 제품을 개발하는 사업이다.

이날 용역기관인 한국식품정보원의 나혜진 대표는 합천 양파를 이용한 잼의 개발 과정 및 제조공정, 시제품 3종에 대한 최종보고와 시식을 통한 평가를 진행해 참석자들로부터 긍정적인 의견과 호평을 받았다.

군은 개발된 시제품을 농산물종합가공센터에서 제품생산 테스트 후 내년 상반기부터 지역 내 농업인 및 가공업체에 기술 이전해 양파 농가의 소득증대와 로컬푸드 직매장 및 ‘水려한 합천’ 쇼핑몰과 연계해 신규 시장 창출을 지원할 방침이다.

김배성 농업기술센터 소장은 “이번 시제품 개발을 시작으로 부가가치를 높일 수 있는 다양한 제품들을 개발해 지역농산물 소비 촉진과 농업인 소득향상에 기여할 수 있도록 총력을 기울이겠다”고 말했다.
