신한울2호기, 최초 계통연결 성공

한국수력원자력(사장 황주호, 이하 한수원)에 따르면 이번 계통연결은 최초 연료장전을 9월 19일 완료하고, 이후 진행된 고온 기능시험 등 각종 시운전 시험을 완벽하게 수행한 결과다.

140만kW급인 신한울2호기는 이번 계통연결을 통해 시운전 기간 동안 경북도 연간 가정용 전력소비량의 27.2%에 해당하는 시간당 평균 약 70만kWh의 전력을 생산해 겨울철 전력수급에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

황주호 한수원 사장은 “시운전 과정에서도 안전을 최우선으로 할 것”이라며, “시운전 과정을 통해 원전의 안전성을 철저하게 확인하여, 내년 상반기에 상업운전을 달성할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

Shin Hanul Unit 2, first successful grid connection

On the 21st, Shin Hanul Unit 2 (1.4 million kW) succeeded in being connected to the grid for the first time, sending electricity produced at the nuclear power plant to homes and industrial sites through transmission lines.
