군에 따르면 관광개발사업은 천연의 숲 상림공원 인근 백연유원지와 유네스코 세계문화유산인 남계서원 등 크게 2개 권역으로 나눠 시행된다.
먼저 백연유원지 권역에는 웰니스 트렌드를 접목한 체험과 프로그램을 즐길 수 있는 ‘한방웰니스관광 거점화 사업’ 182억 원과 자연 속의 힐링공간인 오토캠핑장 조성에 45억 원을 투입하여 관광 성장 프로젝트를 추진한다.
또 유네스코 남계서원을 중심으로 선비문화의 향기를 느끼며 역사와 전통문화를 체험할 수 있는 ‘선비문화유산 풍류 관광벨트 조성사업’ 180억 원과 ‘남계서원 교육문화체험관 건립사업’에 59억 원이 투입되게 된다.
