존경하는 군민 여러분!
다사다난했던 2023년을 뒤로 하고 미래를 향해 도약하는 희망찬 2024년 새해를 맞이하게 되었습니다.
지난 한 해 동안 보내주신 따뜻한 성원에 감사드리며, 새해에는 군민 여러분 하시는 일 크게 성취하시고, 가정에 늘 건강과 행복이 함께하기를 기원드립니다.
태안군은 2023년 한해 어려운 여건 속에서도 군민 여러분들의 저력과 공직자들의 노력으로 눈에 띄는 성과들을 만들어 냈습니다.
세 번의 도전 끝에 마침내 12월 도시재생 공모 사업을 유치해 260억 원의 사업비를 확보했으며, 앞선 5월에는 ‘강소형 스마트시티 조성’ 공모에 선정돼 265억 원을 확보하는 등 태안읍 도심권을 새로이 꾸밀 2개 사업에 총 500억 원의 재원을 확보하는 쾌거를 거뒀습니다.
또한, 군민 1만 9544명의 간절한 청원과 군의 노력에 국민권익위원회가 응답하면서 50년간 군사보호구역에 갇혀 있던 안흥진성을 개방하는 조정 성립이 이뤄졌으며, 통제보호구역이던 태안읍 삭선리 74만 2198㎡ 면적에 대한 제한보호구역 하향과 백화산 군사보호구역에 대한 완전 해제 검토 등 오랜 숙원 해소의 기쁨도 있었습니다.
아울러, 관내 85세 이상 군민에 매월 10만 원의 바우처를 지급하는 ‘어르신 영양더하기’ 사업을 10월부터 시행하고 태안군 공설 영묘전 신축을 마무리해 1만 9024기를 확충했으며, 가족복합 커뮤니티센터와 어르신 돌봄센터 건립에도 앞장서는 등 군민 복지증진에도 총력을 기울였습니다.
이러한 노력 속에, 태안군은 2023년 한해 복군이래 최대 규모인 1045억 원을 공모사업을 통해 확보하는 등 공직자 모두가 힘을 모아 군민 행복시대 개막을 준비하고 있습니다.

2024년에는 그동안의 성과를 바탕으로 신산업 육성과 균형발전에 초점을 두고 미래 발전을 위한 노력을 이어나가겠습니다.
태안의 미래 100년을 위해 충청남도의 ‘제2단계 제2기 충청남도 균형발전 사업’에 대한 대상사업을 시군 경쟁공모로 신청하고 ‘해양안전 드론센터’ 건립을 추진하겠습니다.
또한, 태안군 해상풍력발전단지 조성 사업과 관련해서는 주민 수용성 확보를 기반으로 ‘집적화 단지 조성’ 등 획기적 세수 확보의 길을 만들고, 농어촌 기반 육성 및 전통시장 상권 회복에도 앞장서 태안경제의 경쟁력을 강화하겠습니다.
이밖에도, 만리포니아 해양레저 안전교육센터와 남면 실내체육관 건립 등 군민 삶의 질 향상 및 관광태안 조성을 위한 각종 사업을 차질 없이 추진하고 ‘2026 태안 국제 원예치유 박람회’를 착실히 준비하는 등 군민 여러분과 함께 한 단계 더 발전하는 새로운 도약의 2024년을 열겠습니다.

After three challenges, we finally secured a project cost of 26 billion won by attracting an urban regeneration contest in December, and in May, we were selected for a contest for 'creating a small-sized smart city' and secured 26.5 billion won, thereby renewing the downtown area of Taean-eup. We achieved the feat of securing a total of 50 billion won in financial resources for two projects.
In addition, as the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission responded to the earnest petitions of 19,544 residents and the military's efforts, an adjustment was made to open Anheungjinseong Fortress, which had been confined in a military protection zone for 50 years, and an area of 742,198㎡ in Sakseon-ri, Taean-eup, which was a controlled protection zone, was established.
