이번 공모전은 오는 2월 교육부의 교육발전특구 시범지역 신청 및 지정 이후, 실효성 있는 특구 운영을 위해 각계각층의 의견을 수렴하기 위해 마련했다.
교육발전특구는 교육 혁신을 통해 지역인재를 양성하고 나아가 지역 정주 여건을 개선하기 위해 진행되는 사업이다.
교육발전특구 신청 지역은 교육발전특구위원회가 사업의 적절성과 우수성 등을 고려해 심사한 뒤 지방시대위원회의 의결을 거쳐 교육부 장관이 지정하며, 선정된 지역은 3년간 최대 100억원의 특별교부금과 맞춤형 특례를 지원받게 된다.
아이디어 공모 신청 방법은 군청 홈페이지 군민제안‘울진군 교육발전 특구에 바란다’에서 직접 작성하면 된다.
특구 지정과 교육 분야 관심이 있는 학부모, 군민 누구나 공모를 통해 자유롭게 의견을 개진할 수 있다.
손병복 울진군수는 “울진군은 원자력수소 국가산단의 우수 인재 확보를 위해 교육 및 정주 여건 강화 등의 다양한 방법을 찾고 있다”며“우리 지역의 교육·정주여건 발전에 실질적으로 도움이 될 수 있는 많은 의견을 주시기 바란다”고 전했다
