브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 유진그룹 계열 동양의 ‘STUDIO EUGENIA(스튜디오 유지니아)’가 지난 5일 준공식을 갖고 본격적인 운영에 들어갔다.
STUDIO EUGENIA는 경기도 파주시 야당동 48-1번지 일원에 위치한 대형 멀티 스튜디오 단지다. 대지면적 약 2만8760㎡, 건축면적 약 1만433㎡, 연면적 약 1만3343㎡에 대규모 스튜디오 4개 동과 운영동, 지원동을 갖췄다.
각 스튜디오는 2149~3637㎡의 넓은 면적과 높은 유효층고 15m(1개동 13m)를 갖추고 예능, 음악, 영화, 드라마, 공연, VFX(시각적 특수효과) 등 모든 형태의 촬영에 최적화된 제작시설을 제공하며, 편의시설을 함께 구비했다.
동양에서는 2021년 초 콘텐츠 산업의 성장과 스튜디오의 수요 증가를 예측해 스튜디오 개발을 추진했으며, 기획 초기부터 사용자 및 인근 주민들이 나은 환경에서 생활할 수 있는 공간에 대한 고민을 많이 했다. 이를 반영해 통상적인 창고형 외관에서 탈피한 모던한 외관 디자인 요소, 중앙공원 등을 가미해 주변과의 조화를 꾀했다.
설계는 음향, 전시, 콘서트홀 설계 분야에서 강점을 가지고 있는 종합건축사사무소 디자인캠프 문박 디엠피에서 진행했다.
오픈과 동시에 종편 및 국내 대형 제작사들의 핵심 콘텐츠가 제작될 예정이다. 넷플릭스를 비롯해 국내 유수 제작사 등과 VFX 분야에서 활발히 협업중인 웨스트월드가 글로벌 수준의 VFX전용 스튜디오를 STUDIO EUGENIA 내에서 운영하며 다양한 VFX 대작을 촬영할 계획이다.
동양 관계자는 “STUDIO EUGENIA는 ‘유진에서 만드는 새로운 세상’이라는 뜻을 담고 있다”며 “최적의 인프라와 편의시설을 통해 양질의 콘텐츠가 만들어지는 K 콘텐츠의 중심기지로 만들 계획이며, 인근 마을과의 상생방안 마련 등 지역경제 활성화를 위해 노력 중이다. 단순히 눈앞의 수익 보다는 사회의 가치를 높이는 것에 중점을 두고 사업을 진행해 왔다”고 전했다.
