윤석열 대통령이 지난 17일 테드 서랜도스 넷플릭스 공동대표·배우 이정재씨를 서울 한남동 관저로 초청해 오찬을 함께 하며 K-콘텐츠 투자 및 한·미 문화동맹 등에 대해 의견을 나눴다고 대통령실이 18일 전했다.
김수경 대통령실 대변인은 이날 오후 서면브리핑에서 "윤 대통령이 전날 테드 서랜도스 넷플릭스 대표와 이정재를 한남동 관저로 초청해 오찬을 함께했다"며 이 같이 전했다.
김 대변인은 "윤 대통령과 서랜도스 대표는 한국 콘텐츠·미국 글로벌 플랫폼 결합을 통한 한·미 문화동맹 발전을 주제로 대화를 나눴다"고 전했다.
이 자리에서 서랜도스 대표는 지난해 넷플릭스의 한국 투자 발표 이후 진행 상황을 공유한 가운데 윤 대통령은 "넷플릭스 측이 빠르게 많은 투자를 진행 중인 것에 감사하다"며 "지속적으로 'K-콘텐츠'에 대한 투자를 늘려달라"고 당부했다.
서랜도스 대표는 지난해 4월 24일 윤 대통령의 미국 국빈 방문 당시 워싱턴DC 백악관 블레어하우스에서 "향후 4년 동안 한국에 3조3천억(25억불) 규모 투자를 하겠다"고 발표한 바 있다.
대통령실은 "넷플릭스는 약속한 투자를 충실히 적극적으로 이행 중"이라고 밝혔다.
