이성해 전 대도시권 광역교통위원장이 국가철도공단 제8대 이사장으로 취임했다.
19일 국가철도공단에 따르면 이날 이성해 이사장은 취임사를 대신해 대전 본사에서 공단 직원들을 대상으로 “고객가치” 실현을 주제로 한 강의를 했다.
강의에서 대한민국 철도의 주인이자 고객인 국민의 만족과 철도산업 발전의 선순환 구조 구축의 중요성을 강조하고 “고객가치” 실현을 최우선으로 삼은 경영 의지를 밝혔다.
이를 위해 철도건설 공기 준수와 예산의 적기 집행, 철도산업의 고비용 구조 개선과 인적·기술적 저변확대, 적극적인 R&D 투자를 강조했다.
이와 함께 이 이사장은 오는 3월 개통 예정인 수도권 광역급행철도(GTX) A노선 동탄～수서 구간 점검에 나서 현장경영 의지를 밝혔으며 수도권 출퇴근 30분 시대를 열게 될 GTX의 성공적 개통을 다짐했다.
한편, 27회 기술고시 출신인 이성해 이사장은 1991년 국토교통부 전신인 건설부에서 공직을 시작으로 2023년 대도시권 광역교통위원장으로 퇴임하기까지 국토교통 분야에서 근무했다.
영국 리즈대 대학원 교통공학과를 졸업한 교통 분야의 전문가로 수도권을 비롯한 지방권 광역급행철도 확대를 이끌어갈 적임자로 평가받고 있다.
