1992년에 시작된 거창대동제는 한 해의 가장 큰 보름달을 보며 거창군민의 무사 안녕과 풍요, 화합을 기원하는 행사로 온 군민이 함께하는 정월 대보름 달맞이 잔치이다.
24일 오후 1시 민속놀이 한마당을 시작으로 다양한 세시풍속 체험 행사와 거창군풍물연합회의 지신밟기, 군민안녕 기원제 순으로 진행된다.
