먼저 분리배출 취약지역의 자원재활용 활성화를 도모한다.
군은 재활용 가능 자원의 원활한 수거로 자원재활용 활성화율을 높이기 위해 울진읍 11개소 등 총 31개소에 친환경 분리배출 시스템(클린하우스)을 설치했다.
또한 분리배출 취약지역 배출환경 개선 및 주민편의 향상을 위해 올해도 1억7,000만원을 들여 관내에 10개의 클린하우스를 짓기 위한 대상지를 접수하고 있다.
두 번째로 재활용품의 자원화에 대한 시민참여를 유도한다.
자원순환 사회 구축을 위한 시민의식 제고를 위해 폐건전지 20개를 가까운 읍면사무소로 가져가면 건전지 1세트로 교환할 수 있다.
또한 우유 또는 주스가 들어있는 일반팩/멸균팩의 경우 크기에 따라 10매~40매 화장지 1롤로 교환할 수 있다.
울진군은 올해도 800만 원을 들여 폐건전지, 종이팩을 건전지나 화장지로 교환해 줌으로써 올바른 배출문화 정착과 깨끗한 생활환경 조성을 구축할 계획이다.
마지막으로 영농 폐비닐과 폐농약 용기류의 재활용에 적극 나선다.
농업대전환 프로젝트를 추진하는 울진군은 영농과정에서 발생하는 폐비닐이나 폐농약 용기류를 재활용하기 위해 영농 폐비닐 집하장을 구축해 양질의 재활용 가능 자원을 확보함으로써 탄소중립을 위해 노력하고 있다.
영농 폐비닐 집하장에 집하된 폐비닐과 폐농약용기류에 대한 보상금은 2023년 한 해 7,300만원을 집행하였고, 2024년에도 예산을 확보해 추진 중이다.
군은 영농폐비닐 집하장을 설치함으로써 자원 재활용 뿐만 아니라 무단투기와 소각행위 예방에도 일조하고 있다.
울진군은 이외에도 올바른 생활쓰레기 분리배출을 유도하여 자원이 재활용 될 수 있도록 기간제 감시원 8명을 운영하고, 환경교육 자원봉사단체와 함께 학교, 단체, 마을 경로당을 대상으로 재활용품 분리배출 방법과 탄소포인트제도 등에 대한 홍보·교육을 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.
손병복 울진군수는“소중한 자원이 낭비되지 않도록 도소매업, 일반음식점 등에서도 1회용품 사용규제 정책을 실천하여 탄소중립도시 실천에 동참해 줄 것”을 당부했다.
