윤석열 대통령이 21일 울산 전통시장을 방문해 '민생경제 회복'에 대한 강한 의지를 표하며 상인들을 응원했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 열세 번째 울산 민생토론회를 마친 후 남구 소재 신정상가시장을 찾아 현장 상인들의 여러 애로사항을 듣고 다양한 제품을 구매했다.
윤 대통령의 신정상가시장 방문은 대선 후보 시절인 지난 2021년 10월과 대통령 당선 1주년인 지난해 3월에 이어 이번이 세 번째다.
윤 대통령은 이날 채소·카스테라·참기름·전통과자·건어물 등 시장 내 여러 점포를 방문하고 전통시장 활성화 및 소비 촉진 등에 대한 정부 의지를 강조했다.
신정상가시장은 지난 1970년 개설한 울산지역 최대규모 전통시장으로 농·축·수산물·의류·먹거리 등 다양한 점포를 운영 중이다.
대통령실은 "(신정상가시장은) 오랜 역사와 고유한 문화를 바탕으로 지역 주민뿐만 아닌 외부 관광객들 사랑을 받아 중소벤처기업부로부터 '2024 문화관광형시장'으로 선정된 바 있다"고 전했다.
