브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당은 27일 청와대 비서실장을 지낸 친문계(친문재인) 임종석 전 실장을 컷오프(공천 배제)했다.
민주당 전략공천관리위원회는 이날 국회에서 비공개 회의 갖고 이같은 내용을 의결했다.
이날 전략공관위 발표에 따르면 당 지도부는 임종석 전 실장에게 중진급 인사로서 윤석열 정권 견제를 위한 험지 출마를 요구했으나, 중구 성동갑 출마 입장만을 고수했다.
결국 당은 친문계인 임 전 실장을 컷오프함에 따라 또 다시 비명(비이재명)계 공천 학살 논란이 벌어질 것으로 보인다.
이에 대해 안규백 전략공관위원장은 "중·성동갑은 굉장히 중요한 지역이어서 어제도 이 부분에 많은 토의가 있었다"면서 "오늘도 대부분 이 지역에서 대해 여러 위원간에 교차 토론하고 심의해 내린 결정"이라고 설명했다.
이어 '임 전 실장을 다른 지역에 공천할 것이냐'는 기자들의 질문에 대해선 "아직 논의한 바 없다"고 했다.
한편, 전략공관위는 이날 중·성동갑에 전현희 후보자를 전략공천하기로 했다.
또한 황운하 의원의 불출마로 전략지역구로 지정된 대전 중구에는 박용갑 전 대전중구청장과 정현태 충남대 병원 상임감사의 2인 경선으로 치르기로 했다.
